The Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans 'Remember Earth?' Exhibition presented the voices of artists from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. The mixed media sculpture, 'Streetball', was included in the exhibition. In addition, I was tasked with creating exhibition branded materials to promote the 2 month long, 2 floor showing at the museum.

“…Utilizing the literal to pull the audience into the figurative, “Streetball” bridges that gap between tangibility and intangibility to introduce the audience to DeShawn’s progressive approach as a conceptual artist. The fundamental concept within “Streetball,” is that of togetherness by focusing on the vital need for congruence in today’s landscape of challenges. With conflicting opinions, egregious misinformation, and hate in the world, it can be challenging to create change, but together - we can. That is the core ideology “Streetball” strives to convey the gradual slowing of humanity for a brief moment to rethink, pivot, and come together.”
